Historical Place of China
The Palace Museum
The Palace Museum also called the Forbidden City, is located in center of Beijing. The imperial Palace used by emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties is largest and most complete ancient wooden-structure building complex in the world. Construction of the Forbidden City started in 1406 and lasted 14 years. Twenty-four emperors were enthroned there. It’s being regarded as the largest Siheyuan that is, traditional-style single-story house with rows of rooms around the four sides of a courtyard.
The Summer Palace of Beijing
The Summer Palace, featuring the best of China’s ancient gardens, is located in the western suburbs of Beijing. The palace was built in 1153 as a temporary imperial palace. It was rebuilt in 1888. The Summer Palace includes Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake. The long Corridor Painted with exquisite paintings is the longest corridor in the world.
The Temple of Heaven in Beijing
The Temple of Heaven, built in 1420, is located in southern Beijing. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, emperors came to the temple to worship the God of Heaven and pray for a good harvest.
The Great Wall
The Great Wall, which is composed of fortresses, walls, terraces and beacon towers, runs 6,300km, across five provinces. It was constructed in the Warring States Period of the 5th century B.C by three states, Yan, Zhao, and Qin, as a defense against each other and against the nomads further north. Today’s Great Wall-in size, condition and location-is mostly the Ming reconstruction. That such an immense engineering project could be accomplished over high mountains and difficult terrain at a time of less advanced technology makes the Great Wall truly a wonder of world architectural history. Today, the Great Wall attracts tourists from both home and abroad.

The introduction of the policies of China’s reform and opening to the outside world brought about a flourishing cinema industry, and talented directors, actors and actresses have emerged in large members. The period from the mid -1980s to the early 1990s is often referred to as the second climax of the development of Chinese cinema.
A number of excellent films, such as Heroes and Zhou Enlai were produced.
Many films advocated patriotism, collectivism and seeking a happy life through honest labor such as A World Without Thieves.
Outstanding examples of these are The Great Turning Point, The Opium War and The Assembly.

Chinese Literature --- Poetry
Chinese Literature --- Poetry
In China, no one avoid being influenced by the reflection of Chinese literature, poetry.
It seems fair to say that poetry has entered more into the fabric of our life than it has in the West and is not regarded with that amused indifference which seems quite general in Western society. As we know, all Chinese scholars are poets, or pretend to be, and 50% of the contents of a scholar’s collected works usually consist of poetry. The Chinese imperial examinations, ever since about more than 1,000 years ago, have always included the composition of poems among the important tests of literary ability. Moreover, Chinese painting is closely connected with Chinese poetry, being akin to it, if not essentially identical with it, the spirit and technique.
Li Bai is China’s prince of vagabond poets, with his drink, his dread of officialdom, his companionship with the moon, his love high mountain scenery, and his constant aspiration. Li Bai’s romanticism ended finally in his death from reaching for the shadow of the moon in the water in the drunken fit.
To my mind, poetry is one of great heritages in China.

Chinese Painting of Chinese Culture
Chinese Painting
Chinese painting, another flower of Chinese
culture, is distinguished by a spirit and an atmosphere all of its own,
entirely different from Western painting.
Chinese painting shows a certain economy of
material marked by the many blank spaces, an idea of composition determined by
its own harmony and marked by a certain rhythmic vitality and a boldness and freedom
of the brush, which impress the onlooker in an unforgettable manner.
Painting and calligraphy are closely arts
in China. The best way of understanding Chinese painting is to study these influences,
which went into the building of that peculiar tradition.
Even though Chinese painting date back to
the New Stone Age about 6,000 years ago, Western art exerts a subtle influence
on Chinese painting technically and spiritually today.
